Delta receives prized Funkschau Readers’ Choice Award for innovative Modulon DPH 500 kVA UPS in Germany

Funkschau readers have chosen an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) from Delta for the second year in a row. Delta earned third place in the highly anticipated Funkschau Readers’ Choice Awards this year in the UPS systems and power distribution units (PDU) category. The award went to the company’s new online double conversion DPH 500 kVA UPS. A total of 125,000 votes were cast by 6,260 Funkschau readers for “ICT Product of the Year 2017” across 20 different categories. The UPS systems and PDU category was contested by 14 vendors. The award was presented on October 12, 2017 at the Seehaus in Munich, Germany.

 

Capabilities of the new Delta 500 kVA UPS

The online double conversion Modulon DPH 500 kVA UPS is the latest and most powerful UPS model in the Modulon DPH product line. At 55.6 kVA per 3U (rack unit) module, the Modulon DPH 500 kVA sets a new global density record. This new UPS is the latest addition to the Modulon DPH family of products, which also includes 75, 150, and 200 kVA offerings. The 500 kVA model’s industry-leading density gives data center operators additional flexibility, allowing them to react quickly to changing environments. Delta’s modular UPS accomplishes this by expanding to deliver whatever the situation demands. Furthermore, the Modulon DPH 500kVA takes up much less space. And less space for power infrastructure means more room for productive devices such as IT racks that bring in additional revenue. The architecture of this line of UPS allows individual modules to be swapped without shutting down the system. That makes the devices much faster to deploy and reduces service times by 50% compared to conventional UPS devices. Hot swapability makes the Modulon DPH 500 kVA ideal for applications that require the highest availability. The new model also boasts impressive energy efficiency numbers, achieving AC-AC efficiencies of up to 96.5% during normal operations and 99% in eco-mode.

 

The award ceremony

Trade and technical publisher WEKA invited the top ranking participants from all 20 categories to the award ceremony. The festive atmosphere of the awards celebration held at the Seehaus in Munich highlighted the significance of the Funkschau Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Delta 500 kVA UPS earning the recognition of Funkschau readers is a testament to their trust in the Delta brand and the quality of Delta’s products.

Astrid Hennevogl-Kaulhausen, head of MCIS/UPS sales for Germany at Delta Electronics’ Mission Critical Infrastructure Solutions (MCIS) unit, was present to accept the award. “We’re very pleased to have won our second Funkschau Readers’ Choice Award.
