Delta has a history of over 70 years in power management. The roots of Delta’s telecom power supplies are in the 1930s, when Hassler started collaborating with the Swiss PTT. In Finland, Valtion Sähköpaja (State Electric Works) began producing direct current (DC) power systems already in the 1940s. A merger combined the Swiss and Finnish operations in the early 1990s.

From Taiwan to global

Delta Electronics was founded in Taiwan in 1971. Under its owner and President Bruce Cheng, Delta began producing television coils and intermediate frequency transformers. Rapid growth led to annual sales of $100 million in the 1980s. Delta expanded to the US, Europe, Thailand and Japan, reaching third position in the US power supply market by the end of the decade. By 1994, Delta’s annual revenues exceeded $500 million. Two years later Delta crossed the $1 billion mark, and by 2000 its revenues exceeded $2.5 billion.

In 2003, Europe and Asia joined forces in the telecom power systems business in an acquisition. Today, over 4500 people work for UPS, telecom power and photovoltaic solutions and Delta has operations in more than 70 countries in this area.

Currently the power supply solutions of Delta cover a broad range of InD and OutD systems and HelpD services. The products are manufactured in all main markets in Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Delta has a similarly strong history in the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) business. The company began designing and manufacturing UPS solutions 15 years ago and has delivered its solutions around the world. Delta’s global service teams and partner networks ensure customer satisfaction by providing value-added support, service, spare parts and enhancements to safeguard customer investments and to ensure the efficient use of equipment.

Green Power

We at Delta are proud of the many supplier prizes we have received from our customers along the years, but also of the recognition we’ve received for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting and environmentally conscious operations.

Today, in Delta Group over 60,000 employees work towards a better future. Energy saving and protecting the environment are essential elements of our mission, and Delta’s Chairman and Founder Bruce Cheng carries a personal responsibility for these values. Alternative energy sources and the efficiency and small size of our products are examples of how we translate green values into products. Other concrete examples of environmental considerations in our operations are our green buildings, PV solutions, and the new AC technology and LED products, just to name a few. Delta is a global leader in power electronics, so our choices and products make a difference.
